Quick lunch? Yes Good Customer service? Yes Easy Parking? Yes Quality food? EHHHHH lets just say if you are craving a fast mexican lunch, this is a good spot to go. Their sauce station is the best and I could probably eat their chips every day... there decoration is funky and they prices are ok.

Great price. Fresh food. One of my favorite go to restaurants. The service is great. The staff always checks throughout the meal to see if we need anything

Dogs licking food off table was a big turn off!! We go there on Taco Tuesday quite often because the food is fresh and delicious! But last Tuesday there was a lady feeding her dog off the table on one of the outside tables. At least it was outside but I still had to watch this dog lick the table while I was eating my dinner. That is so dirty because I'm sure they wipe down all the tables, inside and out, with the same rag. She also brought the dog inside while she ordered. I thought that was against the health code? Anyhow, I don't want to share my tables with animals when I eat!!

Fast, delicious, and affordable every time! The menu has tons of options and combinations, they let you customize everything in your meal, and everything always tastes fresh. My favorites are the tacos with beef and received bean, nachos, green sauce enchiladas, and burritos. The sauce bar is also a nice touch to mix up your meal. Is the food super authentic? No. But it's delicious, and that's all that matters to me.

Great food great staff. Hot sauce bar is great if you love spicy....(but there's mild stuff too) my daughters love it here and look forward to our weekly taco nights here.

Love it! I used to come on Tuesdays with my coworkers or my bf all the time! They have a great taco deal on Tuesdays and the tacos are good! The customer service is always great and the environment is very comfortable. I've tried ALL the desserts (fat girl problems) and they're awesome. Taco tuesdaze (5.49 for 2 tacos, chips and a drink) They have almost the same deal on Thursdays but with burritos

I'm a regular here due to the fact that it's good food and it has awesome lunch specials and the staff is extremely friendly and attentive. I have been eating here about one a week for the last few months and I haven't had a complaint so far. The food is always fresh and it's great for a quick lunch break. I usually go either on Tuesday for taco Tuesday where you can get two tacos for about 6 dollars. It's a fast food place so I don't recommend it for a nice date but it's awesome for a quick lunch break!

Came here for Tijuana Tuesdaze bc I was in the area. It could be a great deal if you actually received what you ordered. 2 tacos, chips & a drink for $5.49. I ordered chicken & retried bean soft tacos. I kept thinking that maybe they puréed the chicken bc I couldn't find any. Took the second one up to the manager who told me it was a beef taco (didn't see any beef either). He graciously offered to make 2 new ones. Unfortunately, the second batch were only slightly better. First taco did have chicken. Second one only had 2 very small cubes of chicken. I guess you get what you pay for

The cashier was awesome, but my meal was pathetic. I paid $8.99 for a steak quesadilla and got a sloppy quesadilla with 7 chips. Won't be coming back to this location.

  • Allie S.

First time and I came in an hour before they close. The service was awesome from the moment I walked they explained what they have and what I can get with the pricing. As a first timer I stuck with tacos and can't wait to come here again to try other items. My food came out fresh and it was delicious. I would come here again!

I found this place years ago in Daytona. It's like the rock and roll version of Chipotle, with much more on the menu and the best selection of hot sauce on the planet. I had the whole wheat burrito and it was fanatic. Feel the Burn for the hot sauce. Wish we had a Tijuana Flats in Miami.

I can't believe it took me so long to find this place! I happen to be in the Pines area and wanted to see what the hype was all about. Not only was the service absolutely awesome and attentive, the food was yummy! Fresh guac, lots of chips, chicken tacos Mmm, yummy hot sauces, it was a perfect Saturday afternoon meal. Can't wait to go back!

Went in to take out the taco Tuesday special. I asked for chicken hard tacos. When I got home and opened the container, they gave me black bean instead. Very disappointed. I was not going back out so ate them anyway. Not sure if I will go back there again.

Tijuana Flats has quickly become my favorite taco stop since my dad introduced me about a year ago. The staff at this location are extremely friendly and helpful and the food is what you expect to get at any Tijuana Flats location, absolutely delicious.

I'm usually lazy when it comes to writing reviews but I shall not allow this one to escape! I am not a fan of Mexican food but this texmex oasis has changed my mind. The service was excellent from the time we stepped into the establishment to the time we left. The manager came outside on a few occasions to make sure we were ok. I went for a soda refill and asked for Pepsi instead of coke by mistake...the managers response was "well of you give me a couple minutes I can go get Pepsi for you". I loved that. It gave me the feeling that he values his customers needs and will do what it takes to meet or surpass these expectations.

I REALLY want to love this place. My hubby is a fan of Taco Tuesday. Their taco shells are large and fresh tasting and their toppings are always fresh and crisp. My only problem is that they aren't consistent. I always get fish tacos. On my first visit, the fish was super fishy and smelly, then I returned with my hubby and since all I eat is fish, I decided to try them again. This time, the fish was PERFECT! Nicely grilled, seasoned to perfection and fresh tasting. I looked forward to returning and so the third time we came, I was the one who suggested going but this time my fish was so salty I couldn't even eat it. By the fourth time, on a Taco Tuesday day, my husband wanted tacos so we came here again and this time they were perfect again! I devoured them! But our last visit (which was this past Tuesday), my fish was super smelly and fishy tasting again. The guy at the register actually told me, "I'm so sorry, this fish is probably from the batch we cooked yesterday afternoon" he offered to make me some fresh and since I was starving, I said ok. Well the next tacos that came out were just slightly better but still smelly and really fishy. I pretended they were ok but I didn't eat them. I didn't want to send them back again so I covered them with napkins so he didn't realize that I wasn't eating them. If they could get that fish right, I'd be so happy but when I say it's smelly, it smells so bad (like borderline rotten fish ) that there is no way that anyone could chew and swallow this. When the fish is good though, they really are DELISH! Come on Tijuana Flats! I'm rooting for you guys to get this fish thing right PLEASE...

amazing! i was a first timer! absolute best service i've ever received at a restaurant! after being greeted walking in, 5 minutes didn't go by without being acknowledged for my entire visit! definitely my new spot! i recommend for all!

  • Anne C.

With all the great reviews I was looking forward to trying. But my enchiladas were dry and had no sauce, cheese or hardly any sour cream. I won't be back.

WATCH OUT FOR HAIR IN YOUR FOOD. Sure have some tasty tacos with a side of hair. Ordered my food only to find someone's hair in my food, management didn't even apologize and issued a refund without a word like this is a regular occurrence. I don't really care that the menu is just quick fast food and the farthest for being the world's greatest tacos but even if you're just going to make bland sh*t over priced taco at least try keep extra ingredients like hair and your sh*t attitude out of it.

Wow, great service! Stopped in during their Taco Tuesday special and was blown away by the service I received! Had three people ask me if I wanted a drink refill. They even took my tray as soon as I was done eating. Value was amazing and tacos were great! Thanked me for my business and wished me a good evening, they get it! Nice job Tijuana Flats! Will definitely be back and will bring the family!

I have always LOVED Tijuana Flats. I have probably gone to the one on Miramar Prkwy 500 times, which is the one nearest to me. I decided to go to this one on Pines because I was in the area and WOW I thought this food chain couldn't get any better but it proved me SO wrong. I ordered my food and the girl who took my order was the sweetest person ever! She was extremely friendly and while she was getting my drink she even asked how my day was going which was so sweet. I also noticed how much nicer this location is decorated and what positive vibes it gives off! My order literally took about 3 minutes when originally in the other location it takes about 10. I have never in my life tasted such fresh and delicious quesadillas in my life. The food is just SPECTACULAR. I have recommended Tijuana Flats to tons of friends and family and not one has told me they didn't enjoy it. I will definitely be going to the one on Pines from now on! BEST MEXICAN FOOD EVER!

Liked my burrito. Don't recommend the desserts too much. They were meh.

  • Melissa M.

Great place. The tostadas were crunchy with a great layer of beans, chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. The black beans are really good. I usually don't have the opportunity to say that about black beans. Tender with a fantastic flavor. The hot sauce bar is a great place to try hot sauces without a commitment! And, also important, great playlist.

  • Tiffany H.

The service is wonderful, and the decorations are amusing. However, the food depends on what you're looking for. I knew this chain was tex-mex but I felt it was way more tex than anything else. Mexican food is not usually covered in what seemed to be cheddar cheese (not just a light sprinkle- but tacos were literally covered in cheese). Fiancé liked his burrito a lot though, so like I said, I think it really depends on what kind of food you're looking for. If you're looking for more Tex, this is your place- prices are decent and portions are large. If you'd like your Tex-Mex to be remind you more of Mexican food, I'd probably skip this place.

This is my 13 year old sons favorite spot, he loves the nachos. Great place for a quick bite to eat. We love the huge selection of hot sauces. Menu items all look good. They also serve beer which is a plus! We will definitely be back.

Always great service and I enjoy the funky atmosphere. Took the advice from waitress and got the chimichanga with smothered cheese and it was very good. The chips are warm and very good. I enjoy the salsa bar, ghost chili salsa not as hot as I would expect. The dessert was AWESOME I highly recommend the cookie dough flautas.

  • Diana N.

First off, I love the atmosphere here. The drawings on the wall are really cool, the names for the hot sauces are hilarious, and the service is great! I LOVE their queso dip!!! This stuff is so addicting, I usually can finish the little bowl by myself. I've tried different things off their menu and have never had a complaint.

Giving it 3 stars not because of the service or food but because of the ignorance of some people. Went in to eat do to a bad experience next door since we walked out of the previous establishment and we're nicely greeted by almost everyone working there. Ordered what I feel is a really good toastada, at least I think that's the way it's spelled. Got our drinks, chose some hot sauces from their variety of sweet to scorching then sat and waited for them to call our name when the food is ready. They call out name and somehow our food is delivered to the wrong table for someone that their name sounds nothing like ours? So we asked who the server called, which was us, she goes back to the table she delivered our food to to find that not only did they not order what we had but the lady's name was even close! They did apologize, returned our food and gave us some free nachos for the confusion. Thanks. When the food finally came, they again apologized and the food was correct as we had ordered. The texmex version of the food was decent although I'm no fan of texmex. I would recommend this to anyone who actually thinks the fast food version of Mexican is good because this is far beyond better than the famous Mexican fast food crap that everyone eats that I've boycotted for close to 8 years. Next time, pending people with no common sense, my rating would hopefully be higher.

  • Elaine M.

Service was spot on, this young lady knew all the ins and outs of everything, even told us about that days specials, brought us everything the way we ordered it. Actually having been to Tijuana many times, i was expecting more of a authentic Mexican style of food, but it was more like a baja grill (thick flour tortilla, american guac, and not a true spanish rice) Americanized Mexican food, and that's not bad, just not my favorite (being from Mexico and all) The chips and salsa were very good ! The meat was also perfectly cooked and seasoned! Next time I will try the bowls instead :)

The people are nice but the food is BAD. This review is for the Tijuana Flats location in Pines,FL next to CB Smith Park. We walked in ,placed our order and waited, staff was great. But the food quality was truly disappointing. The Tijuana flats in miramar fl is great, and I only walked-in because of their name, we should have paid attention to the fact that we were surround by empty chairs and employees. We ordered tacos, when the tacos arrived I tasted the old nasty oil covered pieces of steak, I could only assume that they cooked the meat a week or two ago and dipped it in the disgusting fryer so they could serve it to us. I can't emphasize enough how oily and disgusting it tasted, hours after eating that ,I could still taste the oil in my mouth. The hard shell that they used for the tacos was really bad... Really old. the chips they place on the side were fully smothered in salt. I REALLY DO FEEL THAT BY EATING THIS MEAL I SHORTENED MY LIFE EXPECTANCY!! I will never stop here again. And anybody reading the other b.s. Reviews saying how great the place is don't believe them. The reviews might be for other locations, hell, don't take my word for it, go in and buy a steak taco if you have a good health insurance policy.

  • Joanna B.

I've tried literally EVERYTHING on the menu. Chimichangas & burrito bowls they've got it. Burritos tacos healthy light varieties they've got it. Prices are reasonable. Staff is always smiling and customer service is ON POINT. they always try to refill your drinks so its rarely empty. Ps try the cookie dough flautus people!

  • Carlos V.

This franchise is just plain gross. How does anyone call this a Mexican food? I've been to this location multiple times (co-workers keep coming here cause its cheap) and the one on Miramar - they are both horrible. I've gotten the steak/cheese burrito and the "steak" quesadilla with everything, more than once it ends up like a vegetarian quesadilla - hardly any steak. I mean two to three strips of steak and all lettuce and tomato. Nasty!

After a very bad experience at ghengis grill we ended up at Tijuana flats. We had their beef tostadas. The food and the service was great. However when the server was bringing out our food and yelled my name the table right in front of her snatched our food. When I asked her if she just called us she came over and advised us that our order was given to another table. She was quick to rectify the situation. She said she was going to put in another order for us, and asked if we would like anything while we wait like chips and salsa. We said yes since we were starving. She was quick to return and quick to get us our food. We will be retuning! Awesome service Tijuana flats! We will be back soon!

Taco Tuesdays are the best! Food is always fresh and staff is super friendly. Always packed on Tuesday for lunch but they move quickly. The hot sauce bar is great but consume with care things could get pretty hot!!! I'd recommend this spot for lunch to anyone. :)

Great food and very good sauces, so far this is one of the best Mexican restaurants I have tried in Florida... Will keep on trying some more to update the status of this review. I have not found a place in FL that serves Mexican food like its served in Texas. However for now this will be my go to Restaurant. Fresh food.... you have to read the story behind the start-up pretty cool. Pina Hot Sauce was my favorite, had some Flautas which were awesome too! Employees were friendly and restaurant looked clean.

we just recently discovered this place about a year ago and OMGGGG we are obsessed. their tostadas are friggin amazing. the hot sauce bar is awesome. love the super laid back environment. we need one of these in Miami Lakes.

  • Macielle B.

I don't know if its because I take any variation of Mexican seriously, or maybe because the selection of sauce sucks but I wasn't too fond of this place. Everyone was nice and I came in for dinner with my baby sister and my best friend. I had the grilled fish tacos which were delicious two tacos with grilled fish, cabbage onions and cilantro was delicious. I'm big on sauce and their sauce game was not up to par but the service was quick the staff was friendly, and the food was pretty decent. oh and they have really cool art in there too!

Me and my wife like this place, but she has been getting her orders wrong at this location for the past 3 times. We haven't gone back lately. But we still really like the burritos and I love the Chimichangas (Pork is my preference-Medium is a good size) Their 50 types of sauces they have are also a PLUS. Great place over all! If you like Tex-Mexican Food this is a good place to go to. Chris. A

Saw this place today and we decided to give it a try for lunch... It was a great choice! We were greeted by very nice young girls who were helpful since this was the first time we had every been to a Tijuana Flats. They explained the ordering process and after reviewing the menu we went with: Chips and Queso - $3.49 - Generous serving of crispy fresh chips with a nice size portion of melted nacho cheese. These were really good and enough for their and to have plenty to take home as well for later. Flautas - Beef & Chicken - $7.19 - These were also a very nice size portion. Enough for even 2 to share.... You have a choice of how meat is cooked "Regular or Blacken" Several sides are available and served on the size. Also have choice of flour tortilla or wheat tortilla. Sides are guacamole, sour cream, tomatoes, onions, jalapenos, olives, lettuce and melted cheese. Note: if you order the flautas and chips - go with the chips & salsa cause no worries the flautas come with plenty of cheese for chips. If you are a sauce lover like we are then this place is a home run for you! There is a nice size variety of sauces ranging from their most popular which starts out sweet on your palate and then coat your taste buds with a gentle heat that hits the spot just right!!! There is the "OMG" where is the milk sauce for those brave ones who dare to go there! The place is clean, decorated nicely especially the paintings on the wall.. The service was amazing. I was eating the last bit of my guacamole with sour cream when i have another serving placed on my table... that was cool and delicious! We were told that this location just opened on Monday. We wish them luck and will be back soon (cause i heard of the "Cookie Dough Flautas" dessert and sounds like something i gotta have!!!!

Meh. Disappointing, my first and last time coming here. The service was friendly and the staff was very patient in explaining the menu to me, but the food just wasn't good. I ordered the steak burrito, but they have this rice with tomato that over powers everything in the burrito. Not a fan of tomato in the rice, I have no doubt that "I LOVE TACOS" on Pines Blvd is far far better then this place.

  • Alexander L.

The place looks inviting and fun to visit with friends for food and drink, yet however, the food that we ordered was not exactly what was brought to us at our table. This is not the first time this has happened to us.

My fiancé and I went here last night since everything on pines blvd was a wait of 45 mins on a Saturday night. We were just driving by and thought this place was cute. I loved it!!! The customer service is awesome they actually attend to you!!! And very very nice, the food was so good and very good in prices. I will definitely come again!

My boyfriend and I found this place on Saturday and we were thrilled. It was our first time here and the staff was wonderful, helpful and patient! The food is fresh and delicious!! We ordered 2 orders of Fish Tacos, with refried beans and rice, chips and guacamole (super fresh and delicious) and a cheese and jalapeno quesadilla, not to mention their ice tea is the best. I love this place and will definitely go back. Wish there was one in the South Miami/Coral Gables area!!!

This place is awesome! Nice sized portions, delicious food, clean restaurant, friendly and accommodating staff. The service is outstanding. I always have Dos Tacos with chips and queso and am never disappointed. Oh, I almost forgot COOKIE DOUGH FLAUTAS!!! OMNOMNOMNOM they are sinfully good.

Decided to give it a try..huge mistake! I have taken my kids and I shared the chicken quesadilla, less than 3 hours later, I had food poisoning ! Now 3am my kid is throwing up. Thanks Tijuana flats for making us miserable! Never..ever...again! I even want my money back!!!!

I've been here twice: once the day it opened and then again a few weeks later. The staff are very perky and friendly. The place is clean and the food is good. My orders (even when complicated) are always correct. Since it is new, the staff are still being trained so it may run a bit slower but nothing you'd probably notice unless you've been to other locations. I've always been offered water or chips when waiting for my takeout!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
